GDC registration number: 80893Raj Patel qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2002. He has since held a strong interest in surgical dentistry and oral implantology and has 10 years of hospital experience.
Raj has excellent expertise in surgical-based dentistry, ranging from facial trauma to surgical removal of wisdom teeth.
Highly skilled in implant surgery and bone grafting, Raj achieves satisfaction from patients undergoing these procedures year on year.
Committed to achieving professional excellence, Raj has completed post graduate education in the UK and Ireland and advanced training at the University of Bern in Switzerland. He is interested in learning from global experiences of dentistry and makes numerous visits to dental institutions around the world, including Germany, Canada and the United States of America.
Raj is also involved in mentoring new dentists in placing dental implants and teaching dentists about implant and surgical based dentistry and is a registered speaker for the ITI (International Team for Implantology). He also runs the ITI study club for Croydon which helps promote post graduate education for local and national dentists.

André Von Backstrom

Dr André von Backstrom is a medical doctor who qualified in South Africa in 1988. He has a 2 year diploma in sedation and pain control and was clinical assistant anesthetist at The Royal Berkshire Hospital until 2001. He has been involved in dental anesthesia and sedation since 1991 and has carried out in excess of 50,000 general anesthetics and sedations. He is a founder member of the Society of Conscious Sedation and is one of the most experienced sedationist in dentistry in the Europe. He also holds a four year Advanced Life Support Certificate. He prides himself in providing the most caring and understanding treatment possible to his patients. The sedation makes the patient very sleepy, removes the anxiety and relaxes the patient throughout the treatment. It ensures the patient has a pleasant experience at the dentist.

Dr Amit Gadhavi

Qualifying from Kings College London in 1991 Dr Amit Gadhavi has worked in general practice and subsequently gained a place to study for a Masters degree in Periodontics in the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital which is part of University College London.
Having graduated with MSc in 1997, he was invited to join the Department of Periodontics at the Eastman. Here he was able to provide complex periodontal treatment in a consultant led clinic. Amit’s thesis was published in ‘The Archives of Oral Biology’ and he has also had his research presented at the International Association of Dental Research’.
In 2001 he was accepted onto the General Dental Council’s Specialist register in Periodontics. Amit has worked in several well renowned practices over the years. He has had the opportunity to work in both general dentistry as well as his specialist periodontal cases referred to him by other colleagues from various practices.
He has previously spent time mentoring and then working alongside our hygienist Clare Wood for over 20 years. Amit provides care in all aspects of general dentistry as well as specialist periodontal cases.He is also experienced restoring implant cases and works very closely with implant providers.
He believes in a fully preventative approach and is keen on a close and communicative approach to providing comfortable and successful outcomes.
Primarily, Amit is passionate about ensuring that his patients are fully involved in their care and that they are always made aware of the choices available for their treatment.
